HEALTH & SAFETY
Planning the work safely
Mechanical installations require clear responsibilities, coordinated access and a planned work sequence.
Before work begins
Site-specific risk assessments, method statements and permit requirements form part of planning the works. The scope, site controls and responsibilities are agreed with the project team.
Isolations and shutdowns
Before existing pipework or plant is opened, the shutdown window, isolation responsibilities and return-to-service arrangements are agreed. This includes coordinating with those responsible for the building’s heating, cooling and hot-water systems.
Lifting and access
Plant movements are planned around equipment weight, access routes and lifting requirements. Restricted doorways, lift capacity and roof access need to be considered before equipment is brought to site.
Hot works and nearby trades
Welding and other hot works are coordinated with the site team, including permit requirements, fire precautions and work being carried out nearby.
Insurance cover
Thermoflow Mechanical Installation holds public liability and employers’ liability insurance. Insurance documentation is available on request to support contractor approval and project requirements.
Discuss site requirements
Include access restrictions, building operating hours and any specific site requirements with your project enquiry.
